Palm oil plantation is the major cause of deforestation and slaughter of Orangutans. Palm oil is used in varieties of foods and cosmetics.
ALWAYS read the ingredient part of the product, and if it contains Palm oil, please do not buy it. Even Earth Balance (the vegan butter) uses Palm oil.
you can replace Earth Balance with “Spectrum Naturals Spread” made from Canola oil.
Use it anywhere you’d spread butter or margarine - on toast, sandwiches, potatoes, or vegetables. Excellent for baking too (not recommended for frying).
You can also use Canola oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil, avocado oil, sesame seed oil, etc.
